I have a BA (Hons) in English Literature from The University of Warwick, an MFA (Distinction) in Art, Society and Publics from The University of Dundee, and I am in my final year of my PhD in Dance Research at The University of Surrey. I am interested in the following kinds of text-based work: cultural tourism, dance writing, creative writing, interview transcription, proofreading and editing.
I am a professional choreographer, theatre maker, cultural producer and researcher with over 14 years experience in the UK and internationally. I have worked with Rosie Kay Dance Company, Breakin' Convention, the Coram Shakespeare Schools Foundation and 2Faced Dance. I am interested in working on choreography commissions, community dance and youth dance.
I am an experienced public speaker, and have spoken on arts and culture at the Edinburgh International Culture Summit (2018), the National Convention of Youth Drama, Scotland (2018) and at various academic conferences in the UK and USA, as well as being a regular advocate for the Weston Jerwood Creative Bursaries scheme, which aims to tackle socioeconomic diversity in the arts in the UK. My areas of expertise include: community dance practice, choreographic practices, British Hip Hop dance theatre, dance and theatre for children and young people, dance as a therapeutic practice for survivors of gender violence and domestic abuse.
